Course Description
 

Topics: Building on the statistics background of Ma 2a (prerequisite), the course will include:

  • General methods of testing hypotheses and constructing confidence sets
  • Asymptotic theory of estimation
  • Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
  • Regression Analysis
  • Nonparametric Methods

Policies
 

Grading: 40% weekly homework, 20% midterm, 40% final

Homework collaboration policy: "Live collaboration" is allowed and encouraged-- e.g. working together to solve problems, but using someone else's written solutions is not allowed. Students are expected to write up their own solutions, representing their own understanding.
