The Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy at the
California Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track position, which may open up
at the assistant professor level in mathematics. We are especially interested in the
following research areas:
- Topology/Geometry
- Analysis/Dynamics
- Algebraic Geometry/Number Theory
- Combinatorics
- Finite and Algebraic Groups
- Logic/Set Theory
- Mathematical Physiscs
but other fields may be considered.
The term of the initial appointment is normally four years for a tenure-track assistant professor (with a possible extension to as many as seven years). Appointment is contingent upon completion of the Ph.D.
Exceptionally well-qualified applicants may also be considered at the associate or full professor level with tenure.
